Valborgsmassevening

This is another Swedish tradition that you all need to read about. April 30th every year we celebrate something called Valborg. At this time of year we gather in big groups and lit fires, mostly of leaves and old branches that have been collected from " winter cleaning" to welcome the summer. So pretty much, officially, Spring/Summer is supposed to start on May 1st. Many demonstrations are held for different purposes on May 1st, this is also a national holiday in Sweden, meaning, everyone gets work/school off.

So Happy Valborg everybody!

This is How we partake of the sun in Åkersberga, Sweden.

Me and my sister sitting out in the perfectly sunny weather on our front porch with the bunnies running in our little garden. This is why Sweden is so wonderful, plus the air smells soo good and everything is green. These smells are better than Hawaii, no doubt. The only real good smell i really smelt in Hawaii was the breeze from the Ocean. But Swedish air... OMG!

Listening to some Angels & Airwaves while reorganizing my iPod. Unemployed life is good. But, hopefully, I'll have a job soon. :)

Job Interview

So this very morning, a very funny lady called about a job offer and I'm supposed to meet her for a job interview on Saturday 2pm. Nice huh? She was super excited and pretty much sold me the job instead of me having to sell myself for her job offering.
She was like: "I see you worked in a clothing store, and you have a passion for clothes, you worked as a Barista, which means that you like working with people. Which is PERFECT for our little Hotel."

So the job I'm being interviewed for is a little Hotel and I'd be working in their little store and in the office. Sweet?

National Museum

Today me, mom, Sabine, my aunt and grandmother had lunch at the National Museum in STHLM. After a delicious lunch we saw the Pre-Rafaelitian art show, which was kind of boring but had some cool and pretty drawings.

I think that my new cropped MC-jacket from H&M will come very well in handy on a night like this.

All I need is a good 5 minutes of your time.

This is one of my all time favorite songs. Favorite of the favorites!
Tiger Lou - Sell Out

"..Darling don't you see, I'm not satisfied"

The Killers - Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf

I know Paul, you told me about the song ages ago, but it's not until now that I've actually listened to it and liked it. So I bow my head to you.

Bestie

This is My best friend Stephanie. Say Hi to her:

Whatever you Like

I just realized how weird it is to be back and having to wear a jacket and real shoes (.. not flipflops) everytime I leave the house. Also, socks! But socks are so nice! :) Kinda random observation I know, but hey, you are reading my blog, so you're stuck with my thoughts! haha

To all of you back in Hawaii, I miss you. And to those of you who left Hawaii with me, I miss you too. Pretty much, I miss everyone.

My sis and her very pretty looking outfit of the day. She deserved her own outfit pic.

Sis (Sabine) taking a picture of me driving.. ps. JACKET!!! (and it's from London, sorry peeps..)

Swedish and unemployed

So I ended up contacting my old job on Thursday, and I hope they get back to me. I mean, I really liked that job, the only thing i didn't really like was the coffee that stuck to my fingers and smelt kinda weird. But I really liked that job!

On todays list to do I have to sign up at the unemployment desk, and hopefully collect some unemployment money since I just ended my studies at BYUH. Hopefully.
Also, email FIDM about my Visa.

YES!! My baby "The Blackberry" works!! I finally got the unlock code to it and it is FABULOUS! Oh, it's such a good Sunday today!

Just another fabulous day w/ the girls in STHLM. We went to a cozy café (called Café 60) after the "friday chill" at our outreach institute center.

Mikaela w/ the awsomely nicelooking sweat from my line "Jaykaiy" & Sarah in the right corner digging through some of my old stuff.

Stephanie trying the "bandana-hat-scarf" thing I made a long time ago for the line while we're all chilling in my room.

Making our way back home.

No need for words. STHLM, its the life. Sarah, me, Mikaela, Sabine & Stephanie taking the pic.

BFF

My best friend Stephanie is coming over after school today to make lunch/dinner. Finally! She's probably the only person I haven't seen since I got back... two days ago. Haha

Let me just tell you guys how nice it is to sit in our living room, with MTV's punk'd on and just laugh my butt off to all these Celeb's getting messed with! It is also very nice to bust out some loud music on my computer in my very own bedroom. Gosh, it is crazy how soft my bed is after the rock hard Hale 3 beds. You can imagine huh?

What makes me super annoyed though is that my freaken blackberry won't work, and I had to get a new, swedish phonenumber. I also bought some code to unlock my blackberry, which I still haven't gotten.. $24 for a stupid code. Rip off. anyways, you want the number? just ask for it :)

I can't believe I didn't share the homecoming story with you guys either. So here's the thing. I arrive at the airport, on time and all, come out through the arrival hall and noone is there to pick me up. Turns out, that we were dropped off in the wrong terminal.. sigh. So I wait, for like 1 hour, walk over to the kiosk right across to buy a new phonecard and hope to be able to use my phone. But no sir, it wont cooperate, at all. I see one of my friends on a kickbike, she works at the airport, so I thought to myself that I can always go look for her if my family doesn't come.

So 1hour and 15 min later I start looking for her. But the airport is pretty big, and I start making my way over to the main terminal, where I should've been dropped off, but decide to go back in case my fam is making their way over. When I'm back I see my friend, walk up to the side off her check-in-people-desk-thingy and ske looks up for a sec, looks down then chocked lookes up again and pretty much screams "jacqueline!!" and lovingly calls me a retard for just standing there, and may I also add that she didn't know when I was coming home. So I borrow her phone and call my mom, who was super relieved that I found a way to call her. My mom and my sisters pretty much runs from terminal 5 to terminal 2 to meet me. Weird huh?

Stupid Brittish Airways that drops us off in the wrong terminal. Well well, no harm done. :) I could've just asked some taxidriver for a phone or something to call them.. But, I'd rather not. So glad Rakeb was working just at that time. God works in mysterious ways! hahah

Jetlag like no other

Yep. I though that the whole "I'm so jetlag"-thing would never happen to me. But here I am, just woken up and its 5pm... and I could still sleep another 6 hours. No doubt!

Pretty much right after I wake up, my dad (Lennart) and my stepmother (Elena, the Filipino) were making their way over to our house to say welcome home.

But I shouldn't complain when people come to see me right after I get home. :)

Bridal Shower

Today a Bridal Shower was held for my childhood friend Amanda that's getting married next week. Due to Swedish bridal shower traditions, the bride is supposed to be publicly "embarrassed", meaning she ofttimes has to do awkward and weird stuff.

So my dearest sister Sabine & our friend Michaela kidnapped her at H&M where her sister lured her in to a fitting room and dressed her in a fantastically ugly dress that Mich's sewed for this special occasion. During the day she, among other things, had to give random people hugs, dance for them, give out candy, pose with statues and carry around a plastic bag dog.

After this, we all went to a really nice dinner at a Sushi restaurant. By then we made her change into her normal clothes and just sat an talked and laughed and gave her underwear for her wedding night. It was a very nice day full of humorous laughs and crazy assignments for the bride, mostly laughs for us.

Don't worry, no brides were harmed during this bridal-embarrassing-shower-day.

I'll put up pictures of it all tomorrow, goodnight friends!

Another farwell weekend.

So on Saturday morning me and Chantal packed up the rest of our room, I went to breakfast @ Hukilau Cafe for the very last time with Paul, Nijiko & Aaron, got back, took down all of our pictures and memories and checked out from the dorms. She went off to her Aunt's & Uncle's house in Ewa Beach (Hawaii) to wait out her flight on Thursday ( I think?) and I dropped all of my stuff off at Brittany's house where I would be living for the next couple of days. Brittany went off to work while I slept.

When the night approached, me, Paul & Brittany went down to a hotel in Waikiki and slept over. We spent the whole Saturday together with walking down the strip, in the sun, seeing the new fast and furious movie (btw it's so good!, and intense, I love action/car movies!!) and dinner at "Buca di Beppo" which is an awesome Italian Restaurant in downtown Honolulu. After that, all that was left was to drop Paul off at the airport, which was really hard. I tried not to, but I just started crying and kept crying all the way home.

Same thing happened when Brittany dropped me of a few hours later, I started crying after the security check, she was already full-on crying when we stood in line and had to say goodbye. I'm gonna miss the McPhee's a lot. I'm used to seeing or hear from them every day.

At least Ii got the time to go back and say goodbye to everybody since they were gathered at Heathers house watching a movie.

Thank you so much for the letters Paul & Brittany. They make me laugh and cry at the same time. But it's only because you both mean a lot to me and I'm gonna miss you. I can't wait to go to Cali.

as lovers go

I am missing people right now. It's 2.30 am (Wednesday morning) and I should probably go to bed since I've pretty much been up since 3am Monday morning.. But my stomach hurts from missing people back in Hawaii. Well they're not all in Hawaii anymore, but i really miss them.

Brittany, Paul, Chantal & Heather. I miss you guys.

Home again!

I'm finally home again, after 25 hours of flights. It is so wierd. Very soothing, but too wierd at the same time. It's like I haven't been gone at all, but I have, and I can feel that I've been gone too.

Hukilau Cafe

So I got back from a FANTASTIC breakfast with Michelle at 8.30 this morning. My banana pancakes were the bomb and so big. I couldn't even finish one of the two huge pancakes. I'm gonna miss Michelle too, she's my "little miss sunshine". Good thing she lives in California and we'll be hanging out when i get out there! Chelly baby, you're the bomb.

After my very last class at BYUH, figure drawing, i ran home to get my books for the sellback. So i get in to the Aloha Center where they have the sell-back at, sit in line for about an hour, get told by the lady that i need to reinforce my book, so i do. But then I have to get back in line again. So i sat in line for about two hours, BUT got 79 dollars richer. Next thing on the list is to return my mailbox key, and then have lunch with Paul. Lunch ended up with a table consisting of me, Paul, Aaron & Nathalie and a single cup of cottoncandy icecream for desert. Very interesting.

Then Nathalie leaves for class and me, Paul and Aaron start talking about what the day has in store for us. Since we're all done with finals and classes, we decided to go on a hike. The Chinamans Hat hike. And it was really cool! We go over to the Kaula beach park and walk over from the beach, in not very deap water (although you have to swim for about 1/3 of the watertredding over, climb up the chinamans hat "mountain" and scream from the top of our lungs at the top, and start our way back to shore. In pouring rain and raising tide on the way back, (and may I also add that it rained a little on our way over too), we get back to the car. Both Me and Aaron were happy, because this was also another thing on our lists that we realy wanted to do. I was prettymuch constantly afraid of sharks, and Pauls little lets-scare-Jackie-manouvers on the way over did not make it easier to go back when it was pouring! But it was fun though.

The night then evolves into me and Brittany going to the Choirs Concert, leaving at intermission for dinner with Celest, Yoko & David at Haleiwa Eats.
Now, at 2.20am (Saturday "morning"), I'm done with all of my packing and am ready to move out of the Hale by noon. My room is so empty, my picturewall and memory wall is empty. Its gray, just like a life without friends or anything eventful, which so is not my life.

Now all I need to do is sleep, we're going on another Hukilau Cafe breakfast with some other people in the morning.

Forever 21 Inspiration

I want this shirt! Even though I'm not really a big fan of shirts with statements, this one is fabulous!
