IKEA love

So, my sisters and our best friend David (from Örebro) just got back from IKEA. While I was at school, staring at a screen, and finishing off all tasks way before everyone else (and getting extra assignments) - yes, I have to brag a little - they were trying out beds, jumping in sofas, eating meatballs and looking at utensils. Yes, I'm jealous.

'Cuz my head was spinning (round, round, baby, round round).

Anyways. Good thing they brought me back a pack of toblerone.

follow me down to the valley below.

Yet another one of those awesome Spotity finds, that I have fallen completely in love with. Porcupine Tree, and of course, the reappearance of The Helio Sequence's Hallelujah on my playlist. Gotta love it.

Sushi with sis

Sabine, who says she totally hates sushi, was dragged to a sushi restaurant with me yesterday. The only sushi she doesn't really like is the salmon on, or any fish. So that was just a California-roll-test waiting to happen. And she totally loved the vegetarian sushi rolls! Which makes me rally happy too, she has to learn to love sushi.

At the Sushi restaurant Itamae (close to where I go to school).

BYUH app.

Done, and done. All I have left now is two or three weeks of waiting to do.

kiss with the fist.

So (man, I've noticed that I start a lot of these posts with "so"), yesterday, as I was zapping through TV channels, the 50's movie "Singing in the Rain" came on! Although I've heard music from that movie - Such as: Singing in the rain & Good Morning, Good Morning - I've never actually seen the movie. And now it's one of my favorite movies of all times, along with d'Amelie Poulain.

I remember me and my younger sister, Sabine, making up a routine for "Singing in the Rain" for a YM/YW conference way back in the days. Might even have been in 2003. Me, Sabine and three other people from our ward preformed that routing at a opening ceremony and the dance for that night had a 50's theme.

Dude. Way long time ago.

Yes! One step closer!

So, tomorrow, after church, I'll have my interview, for the very last missing part of my application to Hawaii. The Ecclesiastical Endorsement, as beautifully as it's called.

So hopefully, I'll know within 3 weeks or so if I'm coming back to Hawaii or not.
Keep your thumbs crossed people, because I really want to.

Katy Perry - Thinking of You

So, here's the thing; I'm totally in love with this Katy Perry song. And I've heard so many people complain about Katy Perry, but I don't care. I think she's totally cool, different and good looking. She reminds me of Zooey Deschanel, who also is one of the coolest actresses ever (referring to "500 days of Summer" - GO SEE IT!).

lyrics-

Comparisons are easily done
Once you've had a taste of perfection
Like an apple hanging from a tree
I picked the ripest one
I still got the seed

You said move on
Where do I go
I guess second best
Is all I will know

Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What do I do? if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into your eyes

You're like an Indian summer
In the middle of a winter
Like a hard candy
With a surprise center
How do I get better
Once I've had the best
You said there's
Tons of fish in the water
So the waters I will test

He kissed my lips
I taste your mouth
He pulled me in
I was disgusted with myself

Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What do I do? if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into...

You're the best
And yes I do regret
How I could let myself
Let you go
Now the lesson's learned
I touched it I was burned
Oh I think you should know

Cause when I'm with him (Ohhhhhhhhh)
I am thinking of you (Ohohohhoh)
Thinking of you (Oh!)
What do I do? if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into your eyes

Looking into your eyes
Looking into your eyes
Oh won't you walk through
And bust in the door
And take me away
Oh no more mistakes
Cause in your eyes I'd like to stay...

All Time Low - Walls

the everyday walz.

Fact: I'm the girl who studies some "fussy" art & fashion classes, drinks tea out of a Starbucks thermos and wears converse to her skirt, and the vegetarian who eats oatmeal for lunch (because she was to tired/lazy to make a lunchbox the night before, and hit snooze a couple of times to many in the morning to make one).

You're Welcome.

Theory

"Only those who have been hurt by love, or dumped, hate couples that are in love."

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Fantastic

So, as I was pondering on the bus this morning. Yes, I tend to do that when I have way to much free time.. I found that, even though I feel kinda old (I know, 21-going-on-22 isn't that bad), I have managed to do a whole bunch of things in my life so far.

Like:
3 years of Fashion&Design Studies.
Work for 4 years (also while still in highschool)
Make a debut Fashion line (Jaykaiy) and sold every item through a blog.
Study a year in Hawaii, BYU Hawaii, (Art & Business studies)
Becoming a TA for Art department at BYU-Hawaii
Apply to a fashion school (FIDM), get in, decide not to go (because of ridiculous expenses).
Work again
Apply for new studies back in Sweden
Start Clothing Pattern Construction Program (That, by the end of the semester, will give me a diploma)

Not to bad, eh?

Afterschool and Tea

This afternoon, after my second day of Pattern Construction (which btw still is pretty easy), I got on the bus to Steph (my BFF). We had some wonderful deep talks in her back yard, played with her wonderfully adorable neice Naima, and drank some tea. Oh the tea stash they have.. Haha.

No worry.

Cool nail polish bought at Sally's beauty supplies, and a cool ring that I got from Paul, pretty much includes my days outfit.

First day of school was fine. I was totally jet lagged and tired when I woke up at 10 to get ready for school. But everything went fine. First lecture, information and then right down to business, making a skirt construction from scratch (peace of cake!). And then class ended 30minutes earlier.

I'm happy!

What am i signing here? :)

(No worry. Peace)

Peace people.

PDX (posted later)

(From Saturday morning @ Portland airport)
Hi,
I'm now sitting at my gate at Portland's airport (PDX) and waiting for my flight. In 30 minutes, boarding will begin, so I'm taking the opportunity to charge my iPod and computer. Life savors on the flight home! 5 hours to Newark and another 7,5 to Stockholm. Thank goodness for free airport WiFi! Finally a airport that understands its travelers need to check facebook and emails! (haha)

It sure has been one intense Friday. And Saturday. Up early on Friday morning to go get stuff for the homecoming party decoration, and piñata, held for the McPhee's brother Michael that on Tuesday came home from Costa Rica. (So the official home coming party was held on Friday). All day we've been cooking food, getting stuff that was missing, running earrends, set up tables and food, dishing and me and Paul made the piñata for the kids. Pretty funny actually, because it looked like a missionary, with the tag and everything, the kids thought it was hilarious! The party started at 6pm and most time was spent on entertaining guests, and kids in my case, while the McPhee's mingled. I met a few guests that I encountered earlier on my stay in Oregon, from the weddings the very first day and then some of Paul's and Brittany's friends.

The rest of the evening we helped clean up, and the left for the airport at 11.30 pm. I didn't sleep at all, and it wasn't really that bad either, bacause I had to stay awake to make sure Paul wouldn't fall asleep. Which was fine too, bacause he surprised me with bringing his yearbook that I asked for earlier, but he wouldn't show me (or coudln't find for that matter). So he told me loads of funny stories and facts about the seniors he graduated with. So fun!

So here I am, really sad to leave. I know I'll miss Brittany alot! She's my sister from another mister. :) And I'll miss Paul. Of course I'll miss him.

School starts on Monday morning, and I feel ready to start studying again after a few months of not really doing anything but work. I'm prepped with sharpies and pens bought at Fred Meyer and a craft store (since your stuff is so much sheaper that Sweden, and kinda nicer too..). Gotta love the states! Especielly Sharpies, my favorite pens. Aside from all of the school materials, i have a ton of candy for the fam in my carry-on.

Yep, 5 hours to Newark, and 8,5 home to Stockholm. Sunday mrning, at 7.35am, I'll be home in breezy Sweden again.

I'll see ya!
Peace

the orphan. the orphan. the orphan. the orphan. the orphan. the orphan.

On Thursday, me and Paul finally got some time together, since I've been haning alot alot with Brittany too. So we went to the movies and saw "the orphan". it was a bit of a nail-biter, and had some pretty nasty scenes.

After the movie on Thursday, we picked up Paul's friend Pojo (Paul John VonStrahl) and made Medford a little bit dangerous. Haha, certainly not. But we did take a trip over to a "Haunter House" which, when the boys kept freaking me out, seemed pretty scary. Nail shut doors, none has lived there for years, half rusty, trashed, dirty and surrounded by huge thorn bushes and grass, a dark night with a moon hanging right over the rooftop, made it look like an ideal scary haunted house. But when we finally walked up to it, it didn't seem that scary. And we couldn't find our way in either since everything was nailed shut.

Instead, we ended up on a mini night-road-trip around Medford, looking over the city and watching the beautiful sky, and ate ice-cream at Sharis, around 4 at night.

About three things I am absolutely sure of:

First, when I'm mad, I clean. Clean out, fold and reorganize.

Second, there is a part of me-
and i don't really notice how dominant that part is-
that listens to rock music, really loud when agitated.

And third; depending on the tone i my voice or music I listen to, you can totally tell when I'm mad.

(Yes, I just used Twilight quoting on this..)
